7.10 The Calc Mode Line
This section is a summary of
all symbols that can appear on the Calc mode line, the
highlighted bar that appears under the Calc stack window (or
under an editing window in Embedded mode).
The basic mode line format is:
--%*-Calc: 12 Deg other modes (Calculator)
The ‘%*’
indicates that the buffer is “read-only”; it shows
that regular Emacs commands are not allowed to edit the stack
buffer as if it were text.
The word ‘Calc:’ changes to
‘CalcEmbed:’
if Embedded mode is enabled. The words after this describe the
various Calc modes that are in effect.
The first mode is always the current precision, an integer.
The second mode is always the angular mode, either
Deg, Rad, or Hms.
